About

Our Sponsor:
We are sponsored by and operate out of St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church – Peoria Heights, IL

Where & When:
We meet most Monday nights from 7:00 – 8:30pm in the Old Gym at St. Thomas Church in Peoria Heights. We also plan monthly campouts or other monthly outings. PLC (Patrol Leader’s Council) Meeting and Parents Committee Meetings will take place once a month in place of a regular troop meeting.

Scoutmaster Conferences and Boards of Review for rank advancement must be pre-scheduled with the Advancement Chairperson.

What We Do:
Being a boy-led organization, we execute the program that is planned out by the youth members of our PLC.  The scouts coordinate each month’s campout or outing, as well as the weekly meetings and other activities.  Working with the youth Scout leadership (PLC) of the Troop, the Parent Committee helps put together a program to help to develop good lifetime skills and values in our Scouts. The purpose of the parent committee is to assure that the intentions of the youth leadership are able to be fulfilled as best as possible. The “parent-of-the-month” helps by reserving the camping site, or other activity, and assuring that drivers are available to transport Scouts to and from outings.

The focus of our troop is to:
  • Offer scouts responsible fun and adventure
  • Train scouts in citizenship, service, leadership and personal responsibility
  • Maintain a constant outings schedule
  • Instill lifetime values and develop ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law
  • Provide an active advancement program
